Dine in
Booths, lanterns, and a room that has been kept the way the family likes it. Wednesday through Sunday, lunch and dinner.
A Chinese restaurant in Petersfield, run by the same family for nearly fifty years. Dining room, takeaway and local delivery — all from the same kitchen.
Tai Tong has stood on Chapel Street, just off the square, for nearly fifty years. The same family has run it from the start. The same kitchen has cooked every plate.
Most Chinese restaurants in towns like ours have changed hands two or three times since the seventies. Tai Tong hasn't. The room hasn't moved, the recipes haven't moved, and the people in the kitchen are the people whose name is over the door.
Three generations have cooked here. Some of our regulars are on their third too. We notice things like that — and we cook for them the way we always have.
Heritage, plated well. One room, one kitchen, one family — kept beautifully.
Whether you sit with us, collect on Chapel Street, or have it brought to your door, the food comes from the same wok station — finished the same way.
